Children and families work together to make a memory box that ‘lives on’ in their everyday routine. Through the creative process, both child and adult share stories, memories, wishes, and emotions to fill up their memory box. Participants have the opportunity to write letters, decorate photographs, and draft drawings. As days, weeks, months, and years pass by, this memory box remains open for additions of new thoughts and feelings. This memory box also serves as a daily reminder that the memory and impact of their loved ones are with them forever. This workshop can also be tailored for pet losses, significant life changes (moving away, changing schools, etc.), or major transitions (tear-down of community building, retirement of a community leader, etc.)
Audience: Families, Classrooms, Communities
