Workshop | Tell It With Art Pop-Up

Share your story. Express with art.

We have all gone through a common experience - the pandemic. Within that common experience, we each faced difficulty or loss of some kind. Whether recent events reminded us of our past or propelled us to think differently about our future, we have unique stories to tell. Connect and share with others through words and art making. Join us for a guided evening of expression and creative release. All supplies provided. No prior art experience required.

Location: Bridgeport Art Center
Venue: BASE Café

Check out what we did together!

We looked at our own losses as Grief Links. The different colors represent different types of loss. Black was symbolic of loss due to death, destruction, disappearance. Grey was symbolic of loss due to brokenness, separation, rejection. White was symbolic of loss due to circumstances, conditions, causation from other losses or life events. As we processed, we also remembered the brighter moments and memories of love that conjure up - those were the Red links. We connected these links and drew them on paper as a form of storytelling; They formed chains, nets, and webs - reminding us that though our personal grief journeys are unique, our stories are more connected to each other than we may have thought.
